First
of all, I’d like to thank all of our friends and family for the phone
calls, emails, flowers, gifts, prayers and love that we’ve been
showered with these last few weeks.  The outpouring of love and support
has been truly overwhelming.  Raines is doing great, and I’m doing much
better.  I’m still a little sore and tired, but I’m starting to want to
venture out — which means I’m recovering! 

In
order to prevent myself from going stir crazy, I thought I’d create
this family website.  I’m testing out the iWeb and iMac capabilities
which allow me to quickly publish this website, photos, blogs, etc from
my Mac.  We’ll see how it goes, but so far…easy! 

The
quote on the main page is from “The Little Prince” a French children’s
book that is really a philosophy on how to live life.  The translated
quote is, “And now here
is my secret, a very simple secret: It is only with the heart that one
can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.”

This quote summarizes what we’ll be most focused on in the next year: matters of the heart, our family.
